NIAGARA FALLS
Just a quick and scenic two hour drive from the Palmyra Inn, the famous Niagara Falls is a must-see natural wonder. While not exceptionally high, the Niagara Falls are very wide. More than six million cubic feet of water falls over the crest line every minute in high flow. It is the most powerful waterfall in North America.

THE ERIE CANAL
The Erie Canal is a man-made waterway in New York that runs about 363 miles from Albany on the Hudson River to Buffalo at Lake Erie, completing a navigable water route from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes. It was under construction from 1817 to 1825. The Erie Canal Boat Lock Park is a great American historical site.

BRISTOL MOUNTAIN SKI RESORT
Bristol Mountain is located in the Western Finger Lakes of Upstate New York, right in the award winning wine country region. Bristol boasts a summit elevation of 2200’ and a base elevation of 1000’. In the summer, the mountain becomes Roseland Waterpark. A great place for families to visit with activities all year long.

WATKINS GLEN STATE PARK
Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. Rim trails overlook the gorge. Visitors can enjoy the Olympic-size pool, scheduled summer tours through the gorge, picnic facilities and excellent fishing in nearby Seneca Lake or Catherine Creek, which is renowned for its annual spring run of rainbow trout.

ALVIN SMITH'S GRAVE

Joseph's older brother that died weeks after Joseph saw the plates is buried in Palmyra. The grave is located just off Main Street, within walking distance of the Grandin building.

25 minutes south-east of Palmyra. A wonderful visitor's center to show and explain so many important events in church history. This is where the Book of Mormon was completed, the three witnesses received their witness and of course the organization of the church.

FINGER LAKES GAMING AND RACETRACK
Since 1962, Finger Lakes has been the premier venue for live thoroughbred racing in Western New York. 25 minutes from the Inn you can visit the homestead of Brigham Young and Heber C. Kimball. The Inn still stands in Mendon where Samuel Smith shared the Book of Mormon with Reverend Green and his wife Rhoda. That is the book of Mormon that finds its way into Brigham Young's hands.
